Prairie Grasses

Prairie Grasses

I’m part of the breeze
that carries me
Over prairie grasses tall, medium
or short.
Like the three bears and
I, Goldilocks, look for my two sisters
in prairie dresses and pigtails
No dogs, no cats,
only prairie dogs whistle and
dive into grasses, tall, medium,
and short.
Snow falls softly – lays a
blanket of white over
the small, the medium, the
tall grasses until-
only boardwalks and snow-
angels appear and
icicle daggers dangle.
Drop.
My sisters disappear.
I melt.
